I'm holding out for the terabyte drives. I shudder to think how long a defrag takes on these things though...

Not at that price.

$99? That's not bad at all. $50 for a DVD burner with Lightscribe is ridiculous, and that's only recently. However, I never really use DL and I usually use 8x DVDr discs that burn at 12x max, so...:)

:D Still rather stick with a NEC ND-3550 for less than half that.

I suspect that most of the Terabyte drives will be used for video storage and editing. I don't think you really need to deframent a video file.

Remember that it was not too long ago that 400GB hard drives once cost around $500. It will only be a short time before 500GB drives will be standard issue and 750GB will be with in the grasp of most people.

Check out their new 15k SCSI with the vertical recording too - first production drive to make over 100MB/sec raw (125 MB/sec on the outer tracks). Whooeee... Must have phat wallet!

MPAA/RIAA will probably want a list of all users buying these. ;)

Wow, I'm still sitting at 79% available. :) Guess I won't need to do any incremental upgrades for a while... I just absolutely hate having an uneven number.... :(

nice drive, I'm close to filling a 200GB hard drive and a 40GB external drive, maybe I should look into one, then again can you ever have enough space?
