Got asked for money at a gas station...

By a couple in a new BMW 5-Series 😕

I pull up to a pump, and a car pulls up to the one next to me with a guy and girl in it. The girl says if I can help her, so I go over and see what's wrong. She then says "Hi I'm not from around here and I was wondering if you could give us some gas money and I can get your name and number and pay you back".

Normally this would seem like your run of the mill scam or something..as between two people how do you not carry an ATM/credit card or some cash on you. But what was weird was that these people were in a new 5-series. What's a few dollars going to do?

Was the chick hot? Do her right there on the hood of the beamer, then flip her around and do her from behind. Have the guy tape the whole thing, and give you the tape. Give them $5.

oh yes

what leads people to automatically think stolen ? Even if it's stolen, they have money to gas it up to get where they need to go. Why risk being seen / identified ?

What am I missing here ?

still not obvious to me. I'd say the chances of some legit people simply not carrying cash/credit at that time is greater than a couple of criminals who just stole a high profile car and don't mind getting their faces seen right next to it... stopped at a brightly lit area, no less. Asking for gas money ? Even criminals have a couple bucks...
