Hi all
I have my eyes currently set on minolta dimage X 2.0 from newegg for $176. anyone has experiences with this camera? or does anyone have better recommendations within $150-200 price range.

I have the Casio Exilim S3......... love it! Takes excellent pictures, fits in pocket for ease of use at a bar. Only thing that sucks is no optical zoom (but i don't tend to need one)

My brother has the Minolta Dimage, and is also a very good camera, with a 3x optical zoom....... but no where near as good as the Casio.

I have the Cannon S230 and love it. It takes great pictures and is really small.
I used to have the S330.

The Canon's are a better camera than the Casio overall....... but Casio's size is unbeatable.

I agree with both of your observations.

I really like the exilim's. A guy at my gf's cousin's wedding had one and I was playing with it. Very nice and small design, and the pictures were surprisingly good! I think I'm going to go with an ultra-small camera soon.

Hey basara, does it bother you at all that everybody just disregards the price range you set? That Minolta is good bang for the buck.

Personally, I'm waiting for this badboy. better than anything on the market.

That looks outstanding! I'd definately wait around for that, but I doubt it'll be cheap.

I'm using a Canon S200, and it is one sweet little camera. The casio and pentax models are pretty good too, but you pay for the miniturization

yes. indeed price is a very important factor, i guess right now i am torn between the minolta dimage X2, Sony DSC u-30 and the old canon S100. i am more leaning towards the canon s100 or minolta.. choices choices..

All the Canon's are great great cameras, but the size was always too big for me.

That Sony one looks badass, but will be $550. 😕

I just got an Pentax Optio S for my birthday about a month ago...and it's super convienent to take around and the pictures are pretty good as well! Granted it is a little bit out of your price range ... I've heard good things about the minolta dimage that you are looking at though.

Anybody who makes their camera choice based on recording medium above all else, is retarded! 128MB sticks are frequently on sale for $25.00 after rebate. Yes, I've received every one of my Lexar rebates.

i was merely expressing my disdain for memory stick... not saying that i wouldn't get the camera (i probably will once it's been out long enough for problems to be exposed)
