I will be doing a BBQ tomorrow and need an easy way to prepare great tasting steak. The marinading shouldn't take too long. Got any?

Easy one...get some steak and put it in a plastic bag with some A-1 sauce. If you can, let it marinate for a bit in the fridge. This also works well with chicken.

:D

3 limes, juiced
2 green onions, chopped
3 cloves of garlic, minced
3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon crushed redpepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander

Mix well and adjust to the amount of meat you need to marinate.

The longer it marinaates, the more of the flavor it will pick up.

Enjoy.

BBQ sauce + Sirloin == Ketchup + Lobster...
I'd recommend seasoning with just salt and pepper, then serve it with either a good peppercorn sauce or some chargrilled vegetables. The whole point of buying a good bit o' steak is that you don't need to disguise its flavour to enjoy it.

Those have great flavor, but can be tough.

Brine one and see how you like it.
It will make it more tender and juicy.
Boil a little over a quart of water and dissolve in 1/4 cup of salt and 1/4 cup of sugar.
Let the water cool.
Put the steak in a quart ziplock bag and add the water.
Put that in the fridge for 3 to 4 hours.
Do not brine it longer than 3 to 4 hours.
If you don't cook it immediately, take it out of the bag.

Sirloin is good, but why not consider a better cut of beef. Bone-in rib eye steaks are always more tender and flavorful. The grocery chains in this area usually have specials on holiday weekends. I used to buy cheaper cuts and marinate them, but now I prefer to spend a little more and just season them with salt, pepper, and garlic powder before grilling.

Eating steak should always be a pleasurable experience- not an exercise in cutting and chewing.

Try marinading the steak in a non creamy Italian salad dressing for two hours or more.

That's what I was thinking. Sirloin is the E-Machines of steak.
