I was playing BF4 and on startup my R9 290 span up the fans 100% and then shut down, when I restarted the PC I had lines all over my screen looked like GPU memory failure and then after BIOS the screen went totally artifacted. I then removed the card and used intelgrated graphics until my new R9 Fury arrived today but on putting it in the PC will now no longer boot.

I've had lots of issues with the BIOS hanging over these last 4 days but when in windows I could game on the intelgrated graphics okay and I also ran memtest for 7 and a half hours with no errors. I'm considering getting another PSU to test but I don't want to keep buying stuff if it isn't going to fix the issue. Please help as I'm so tired of this problem!

BTW Everything is now stock on my PC to make sure for stability.

Silly question, extra power cable hooked up? Have a known good video card? Not sure I'd buy a Fury at this point with the newer cards being available...

I brought it thinking my 290 had died but now not so sure. I've got 2 6+2 pin connectors going to it and have tried the new R9 Fury in it so that should be good.

If your system is what is listed in your sig, your PSU should be fine, assuming it is working correctly. Remove the Fury, and then go into BIOS, and see if they list voltages there.
I also assume you unplug the machine while you have been inserting/taking out cards? I have seen systems get fried ports/cards because of people not doing that.

I've brought a used HD 6670 and it works however it doesn't with either the R9 290 (which I'm almost certain is dead) or the R9 Fury (Which I've sent back).

Now I need a better card where does this leave me :(

I don't have that motherboard but here is a possible solution I read online for that particular motherboard R9 290 combo. (apparently there is a know incompatibility with that mobo/GPU combo)

Anyway, I would think its worth a try at least.

1: Be sure motherboard is updated to latest bios.
2: Insert R9 290...BUT...
3: But plug your monitor into the ONBOARD graphics!
4: Go into bios and under PCIe settings and change it from UEFI to Legacy support.
5: Save bios changes & reboot to desktop.
6: Shutdown PC.
7: Connect monitor to R9 290 and see if it works.
