Then again, I have to turn the AC up a lot since it is topping 100 degrees here. That must contribute to that low mileage.

no, a/c would not impact epa ratings. The temp may a bit though....but a heavy foot and/or late shifting is the culprit probably.

Are you kidding? The A/C most definitely contributes. The A/C uses more energy, which means you have to use more gas to accelerate the same time/speed which means you expend more gas. Simple physics buddy.

I thought I had it rough. I get 23 mpg in my 01 mustang V6.

My dad gets 29-31 in his 01 Stratus SXT and 02 Impala.

A Bugatti Veyron will go through a full tank of fuel in 12 minutes at top speed.

No, no one can explain that because it does consume more fuel.

I don't think it is...when I control myself I can get ~37mpg or more in my 99 civic ex. I usually shift between 3k-4k rpm's though so these days i'm only getting 32mpg..

My 96 civic gets avg 30mpg with half city driving and half freeway. I'm also keeping at 3k rpm or less.

Oh really?

.......

.......

*cancels his order for a Veyron*

I get about 15mpg in my supercharged 3.0 V6 Ranger, and that's driving like a bat outta hell.

Theory goes, in a vehicle traveling at constant speed the windows are up, creating less drag.

I get about 19 out of the Maxima and we get 23 mpg out of the Lexus. That's city mileage of course.

My last couple of tanks have been around 55 MPG. I can get near 60 MPG if I don't have to run the air conditioning.

With only short trips around town I end up at 27 mpg in my Corolla. For highway driving, add another 10 mpg.

I've been getting that for the last 11 years. Maybe closer to 12mpg actually.

Got 246 miles on 4.005 gallons last trip. 94 Ninja 250. Starting to get a tad chilly, but I'll ride another 2-3 months. I understand this is comparable to a Prius, but I'm out $1200 for the bike and $75 / year for insurance. I doubt I could get into a Prius for that. :) I'd rather hit a deer in the Prius though, lol.

my town car does 19.3 around the city, 26-27 on the highway. I'm not feeling so bad about that after reading this thread.

Well I'm sure it doesn't help with the V8 and the fact that the car weighs close to 5000lbs.

For a minute I considered buying some old beater just to drive back and forth but it probably wouldn't be worth it.

1. SC400s are pretty big cars. 3700lbs.

2. Shens. I need to see the mpg gauge in your dash. It's epa rated to 18/20 or something similar. It has a V8 also. I barely got 22 on a SC300.

Wow, that's low. My coupe gets around 19 MPG with bumper to bumper traffic and AC.

wow to you both. I get 23 MPG average in my 350Z. I've NEVER gotten below 21 mpg.
