In my case the only way to get the PSU to match the screw holes is to make the fan point up towards the top cover of the case, which doesn't seem to make much sense. Shouldn't it point towards the cpu/motherboard? I can twist the PSU around so the fan points that way, but as I said then I can't screw it into the case. Anyone else had this problem?

Yeah, the fan should point down.

If you have a large air gap between the top of the PSU and the top of the case, then in might be OK for it to point up.

Or, maybe you can drill out a couple holes so you can mount the PSU in the other direction.

Yeah, I figured it should. Unfortunately I don't know what brand the case is, bought it used from someone and they're not sure either. But they're telling me they have the same problem and they just leave the PSU unscrewed. Weird that it wouldn't line up with some cases though.

That case might have been setup for "AT" design.
AT power supply mounting holes are the same as ATX except upside down.

I would mod the cutout and mounting holes to fit properly.
Google it, there are instructions online.

I'm certain it's an ATX case, but someone else suggested that also. If I have an ATX board in there, wouldn't that mean the case would have to be ATX? To my knowledge an ATX board can't fit in an AT case because of the way the board is made, dimensions, etc.

I'll probably either leave it unscrewed or a get a new case down the line.

AT typically had different mounting holes, well if memory serves.

As far as your case goes see if there's a mounting plate at the back where the PSU goes. You may be able to remove it and the exposed area may allow you to secure it the correct way.

Beyond that I dont' know.

I checked, and nope there's no mounting plate. Turns out with my old PSU (antec 300w) the mounting holes were the same as this one, and I probably had it in upside down the whole time. Except there it didn't matter as much because it only had the one outtake fan. I probably have some weird case with the holes drilled wrong.

Thanks anyway all.
