Also Amazon Music is pretty good, even the "free" version.

And if you buy a Kindle they frequently through in a free three months of Kindle Unlimited.

Bezos won't be happy until he completely controls all the world's retail.

I got a lot of free kindle books via some entity that was pushing them through to my inbox. I'd peruse the list and select items and download them. Many very interesting books, some famous. I don't get those emails these days, don't know why. I don't know if that was affiliated with Amazon, I figure not. Had nothing to do with Prime because that was way before I signed up for Prime.

There are a number of such free services, I've been using using this one for at least a couple of years, get daily emails: https://www.ereaderiq.com/ Not everything on their list is free but I probably grab at least a book a day on average. Some horrible, some surprisingly great. Two more kindle types-most classics are out of copywrite and are available for free from Amazon all the time. I occasionally grab one of those books you were forced to read in HS under deadline and read them again at leisure for enjoyment. Also many public libraries have free ebooks-probably for a limited period of time like a regular book. Check your library's website.

Amazon has thousands of free books. You used to be able to go to the kindle book section and pick a category and sort the price low to high but it looks like that option has been removed. I think there is still a way to do it by editing the address but never looked into the workaround.

They also have Prime reading which has books, classic, original and audiobooks to read or listen to.

I also just found this 'cheap reads' link that should have a bunch of free public domain books.

A AmazonClassics edition link. Scroll down a bit to see free classic novels. https://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.ht...1&node=18660703011&ref_=kbhp_brws_classics_T1

Thanks Funboy and Balloonshark! I had no idea about either of those, I could have a LOT of free games and books by now.
