Got Act of Aggression.

Have you a chance to try out the different sides? How is the balance?

It feels almost exactly like Act of War.

The US Army now has the Stryker APC/Mini-tank, and the humvees are upgradable (only 1 of 3 upgrades, choice is permanent) but basically its the same thing with better graphics.

You can zoom out a little further and there is also a satellite view which isnt terribly helpful but its there.

They added 2 new resources on top of cash: metal and rare earth elements.

Oil is now in tiny patches all over the place and you put your refinery in the middle of them, then make as many trucks as you feel necessary.

Base power is now measured in individual units instead of hundreds of megawatts. US Army cannot build structures anywhere, they have to be close to other buildings, like Consortium used to be.

You can not stock infinite resources, you need to put up storage buildings. Quite a few of them actually, they dont hold much.

Theres a LOT more upgrades available, and most need to be researched at an armory. More buildings in each Defcon. You need an expensive research before your infantry can capture any building, much less a bank.

Overall its fun, but really only a minor improvement over Act Of War. I would get it on sale right now, or wait until the Thanksgiving sale which is sure to come.

I'm waiting for the holiday sales since I just bought a PS4 and Mad Max but I will definitely pick this one up. I really liked Act of War and everyone says this is more of the same pretty much seals the deal.

Ya played it for a bit then refunded it...
I cant see the game having a huge fanbase other than the true diehards past 6-12 months, much less years like some other titles from the "golden age of RTS".

I'm about to pull the trigger. I still play C&C Generals and I liked Act of War. I'm ready for a new RTS and the reviews are mostly positive. Especially from those who loved CC Generals as I do.

i did not like it. to me it has the starcraft syndrome, too much micromanagement and too little tactics.

I just saw that they put up a Act of Aggression Reboot edition...
Does this fix all the issues of the original release?
(It is free for all original owners of the game http://store.steampowered.com/app/318020/ )

Act of Aggression: Reboot Edition is an iteration of Act of Aggression, released for free to all owners of the original game on March 21, 2016. The Reboot Edition aims to overhaul many of the gameplay features of the original game.

The Reboot Edition was developed in response to the subpar reception that the original Act of Aggression received after its launch.
