Got a Zen Micro for Christmas..

I got a Creative Zen Micro for Christmas and I noticed that the box said "limited edition with extra battery" and the faceplate of the actual device is different from all the screenshots I've seen. The box was a little dirty on the inside so I thought it was an older version, yet the firmware of the device is the latest, and I never updated it.

My Zen micro looks like the one here "click view 360"

Yet all the Zen's I've seen look like this

Notice the difference in the button icons..

Does anyone know if there are 2 revisions of the Zen Micro? Do I have the newer or older one?

If you held both in your hand, you will realize the one on the left has translucent icons, and the one of the right has transparent icons.

Also, the "Menu" button also has a different design. The reason I'm concerned is because the box that my Zen Micro came in was a little dusty on the inside, but the firmware was the newest..

The 360º version is probably a CG model and not composed of actual photos.

I have it in my hands and it looks just like that.

2krazy, please don't crap my thread, I was curious, and I was wondering if anyone else knew more about this.

I have the same one you have, but white. I had to update the firmware. Sounds like you got a grey market one. Maybe refurbished? If it works well, don't sweat it.

Sorry to bring back to life an old thread but what do you mean by grey market? I bought mine new in store and it has the back arrow instead of the arrow with back written under it. There are probably just a few different revisions. Oh also I just picked one of these up the other day and love it... seemed way better than the ipod mini to me especially with the new firmware. All I needed to do was drag and drop the mp3's I wanted on it to the music folder. Then listen to them and if there is a song I dislike I can delete it right from the player. I can make playlists on the fly, it has this cool blue light up around the edges (looks really sharp on the Black model which is what I bought), and the fact that I can swap out the battery if one goes bad is comforting.
