I just confirmed that i got a virus in an e-mail, and i did open it before i knew. I was going to download a norton free trial but its not xp copmatible. Are there any anti-virus programs that are xp compatible that offer a free trial?? thanks for your help, hopefully i can get rid of this thing.

Erg, fricken DigitalRiver. Nav 2002 is XP compatible, I don't know why that is still there. You should be fine, and I'll double check and have that notice removed. (If you follow the broken system requirements tag here it does list XP home/professional.
