how does that thing work, just plug it in in the slot next to it and let it blow or does it suck air from the outside?
It exhausts the hot air from the GPU. The 9600 Pros don't run anywhere near hot, so any of these is really overkill, so I'd go for the completely passive one.

Well thanks for replies I already have the 9600 pro o/ced to 450 core/ 321 memory one of my buds said i might be able to get 500 out the core with one of those and maybe 330 to 335 on the memory the stock speeds are 398 core 297 memory so i think it might be a good o/cer with proper cooling 🙂

The zalman isn't that good for overclocking,it's meant to be a quiet solution,as for the giant i never read a review of it but it looks a lot more trouble installing it that the Silencer is.

For a 9600, get the zalman. The Zalman just made my case too hot w/ a 9800 Pro, but as far as heat is concerned, the 9600 and 9800 are worlds apart.

Silencer or Zalman. Both are excellent.
The ThermalTake one isn't bad, but is way overkill for even the hottest current video cards.
