Can anyone suggest some diagnostic software I can use to boot up a computer and find out what components are inside?
I want to find out what processor/speed, how much ram, what size hdd, etc.
I recently bought 3 pallets of surplus state government computers and I need some way to sort of inventory what I have.
Any ideas how to best accomplish this?

I've been lurking these forums for more than a year now and I finally have a question that has not been answered already.
You guys are the best source of info on the web!

cpuid is a great program for finding out what processor you have, but for other things like motherboards and harddrives I would just open up the boxes and look.

Thanks guys,
I'll try these programs.
Also is there a way to identify motherboards and/or pci/isa cards by the fcc id number or serial number.
Does anyone have a database of this stuff. This would help with some of the units that are not complete.
I need to be able to identify seperate components to assemble comps from the donors.

Thanks again!
