Bad start to the week ... doing 45 in a 35 zone ... i know i got no excuses ... except the grouch why he picked me .... others were going 50 ... i guess its the red sports car syndrome everyone used to warn me about .... is there any study proving this?



its just plain stupid to get a speeding ticket ... just got new tires saturday ... anyhoo the cop was rude ... if he was even one bit pleasant i would have asked him .. why he singled out me ... but i guess that would have been stupid of me and might have resulted in a bigger fine ...


oh well .. end rant /// it was my fault ... the thing thats bugging me is my intuition which is pretty good about how the day will turn out ... did not show any signs of anything like this ... 🙁
 
If others were going faster than you, you can use the reasoning that you were driving the speed limit but since th eother cars were tailgating you and whizzing past you felt unsafe and were forced to accelerate to a faster speed for fear that you might be involved in an accident otherwise.
 
nah ... didnt try to talk him out of it ... just didnt feel like it .... he seemed so rude ... no reply to my good morning....

... its bright red z3 .... real bright red ... hellrot II .... here in office we are discussing how they put that speed trap at that location everytime this time of year ....

... ppl came up with theories about how red color affects the radargun ... something about frequencies / wavelength on the spectrum .... i hope my wife understands this ... 🙁
 
Nah it's not the radar at all. He caught all the other guys speeding with the same gun but they always give a certain slack. It's just that they have a tendency to stop the cars that are more known to speed... red is a good color. Sports car on top of it ? You lose. Attracts attention. Sucks but true. You just have to be more careful than the other cars around you.
 
When everyone breaks the law, everyone eventually gets a ticket. Everyone will blame it on everyone else and that's the way it is.
 
you don't have a radar detector? It is a wise investment! Also, never ever hit your breaks if you see a cop. If you need to slow down, use the hand break. Brake lights are a BIG magnet to a cop.

You mean you just want him to fishtail... which won't draw attention to his vehicle at all. 😉 Nah just downshift... and I think radar detectors are only good if the company guarantees to pay your tickets. 😉

 
What about a yellow car instead of red? 🙂

I know if I am going faster than everyone I will be easier to pick out, but if others are going faster than me, I wonder how cops feel about yellow.
 
it's good you admit to yourself your mistake, now forget about the others and just accept it, say I'm not going to speed anymore, and move on.

I suppose if someone could not control their car, there would be a chanvce of fishtailing.

My radar detector goes off when the cop is far away from me for me to reduce my speed.

Big urban legend. The speed limit is the speed limit and isn't set simply because of traffic. There are many factors that go into setting a speed limit including if there is residential areas around and intersecting roads and the positioning of stoplights/stopsigns. I guarentee you that a NYC cop will laugh at you if you use that excuse. A cop can pull you over and ticket you if you go even 1mph over if they want.
