I was returning back from seaside with my friends and i foolishly was speeding on a straight streach on 26 in wasthington county. I was doing 90 on 55. I feel really depressed and stupid!

there is a fat fine, should i pay or contest it

Contest it. Tell the judge you thought your speedometer was in kilometers per hour.

After the fatal wreck a couple months back, 26 seems to be crawling with cops. Especially the straight stretches, since everyone tends to speed up through there. How much is your ticket?

How can you possibly contest it? You were going nearly twice the speedlimit.

Um 90mph on a 55mph road is pretty uncontestable...

RobCur: i want to tell you all what you don't want to know is that we sometime refuse to accept what is the truth and rather believe anything even if it a lies, that you can save lots of money. it worked for lottery, and gambling, so why woldnt it with rebates? if something sounds too good to be true then it maybe. Today is the day when rebates are going to start eating people up alive. what do I mean? that is the question. It makes logical sense. does it not?

lol, i forgot about that guy....

50 in a 35 --> $152

that is not bad at all for me, considering the previous offenses.....

I know in Cali you wouldn't be able to attend traffic school (got one almost like that).

so now your insurance is going way up, but you can delay the fine and stuff for a while by

1. on the check when you write in the fee or on a seperate letter as for a trial de novo (where both you and the cop write in you stories to a judge and he decides)

2. if still found guilty just show up to the courthouse and say you need more time to pay the ticket thus delaying your court appt.

this works in Cali, so it should work in Oregon.

here is a helpful resource:

link1

and also from the same site

just want to give you a  for not being a whiny teenage punk kid who starts a post on how to weasle out of the ticket. You made a mistake and you are owning up to unlike some others who are unwilling to do that.

sucks that you got a ticket though...

don't mean to be stero typing anyone but IIRC, the threads on asking how to weasel out of speeding ticket were not started by the 'older' crowd here....if I am mistaken, I apologize now...

Eh? I got a ticket for 90mph in a 65mph and I could take traffic school. I do know if you break the magic number of 100mph and get caught for it, the police could nail you with a 2pt violation and you cannot get traffic school to take off the points.
