Yep, first real ticket. (the last one the cop was seeing things or something). 85 mph in a 55. Whoops. Didn't even realise it till I saw his lights, and then I looked down and said, "aww sh!t.". I was actually doing 91 according to his pace, but he knocked it down to 30 over, which is the exact max before traffic school is no longer an option.
I was polite and curtious over it, kept my hands in plain view, and told him I was going to reach for something or open something before I did. I didn't argue with his 91 mph finding (my speedo only goes to 85, and it was burried when I saw his lights go on) He asked me if there was a reason I was speeding, and I said I was just going home, I had no reason to be speeding. I appologised for making him get out of his car on such a cold day just to write me a ticket.
You see what happens when you treat a cop with respect? My ticket was reduced so I could get it off my record, and he didn't cite me for not having a front plate (which he didn't check, but he may have if I was a dick) or anything else that was illegal with my Zuk. (probably a whole lot)
Moral of the story? Don't be a dick.
