got a quick computer question....

hey all, i just built a comp for my friend and finished installing win XP a few seconds ago. i put a geforce2 mx in there until i got home to swap the 9700 pro. now, i didnt install any detenator drivers. is it ok to just pull out the geforce 2 and pop in the 9700 pro? thanx

detonator destroyer or something like that should clear up any messes that xp created. Or maybe it would work to just change the display to standard vga, remove and replace.

sure, xp has default drivers for anything that isn't > 5 years old/that was made for just with win95 or whatever back in the day

You'd think that Windows would detect different hardware and start hunting for drivers for it, now wouldn't you?

Remove the display adaptor in the device manager, turn off computer, install new card, boot up and install drivers.
