got a question for u domesticated people... what do u call those things...

spanky

Lifer
u know those things that u put in front of the bottom of ur door to keep wind from coming in... what are those things called? i need to get one badly 🙁 u think target will have them? if not... where do u suggest i look for one?

Go to Target or Wal-Mart and ask for one of those things you put in front of a door to stop the wind .... they probably don't know the name either, but do know what they are. If there are any craft shows in your area, there will be more than one booth selling them. I think we got ours at Wal_mart. We have at least two here and neither my wife nor daughter (who are pretty smart) know what they are actually named.

Door Sweep

Oh I thought he was on about the worm shaped things 😱

actually... i was looking for one of those cothe things... but its like stuffed with sand or something. i stopped by home depot and kmart (walmart and target are kinda far for just a door thingie).. found weather stripping and a door sweep. no dice on the other things... perhaps i am talking about the worm thing.

That's going to cost more, and be more of a hassle, than fixing it right! You have to put it back in place every time you open the door? 😕

well... i dont know how much those things costs... was kinda hoping to spend under $10. as for fixing it right... yeah, i am lazy... i just want a temp solution. the door doesn't get opened very often tho... maybe a few times a year. i did buy a door sweep from k-mart before tho... just in case i am feeling particularly handy sometime this weekend 😛

"i just want a temp solution."

Roll up an old towel. Cost $0.00 But, it only takes a couple minutes to attach a door sweep, which should be on there anyway.

well right now, my temp solution is two fluffy dog slippers. i wasn't sure about the towel becuz i wonder if it's too light to stop the draft from slipping in. i was thinking about installing the door sweep, but i need to find a hacksaw to cut up the door sweep so that it will fit. yeah i know what you're thinking... excuses excuses 😛

i think i'll end up getting the draft dodger from linen's and things. it's $10... looking for coupons now 😀
