Got a question about RAM

If I were to get two sticks of this patriot http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220045 .. You see the cas latency is 2? Would it be CAS 2 for just 1 stick or would it be Cas 2 for both sticks working together? Or would it combine somehow to be suckier and be like Cas4 . . lol sorry that sounded dumb :x

Stock speed for multiple sticks is the same for 1 as for 2 if they are the same speed.

With mismatched sticks, speed usually needs to be the slowest of the sticks (a CAS 2 and CAS 3, safest speed is CAS 3)

yes, but Cas timings dont mean very much at all if you are using an athlon 64

The amount of RAM (assuming you are using it all) will probably have a bigger improvement than CAS latencies. If you could either have 512 MB of 2-2-2 RAM, or 1GB of 2.5-3-3, the 1GB would be faster in many apps...

dual channel makes a difference as well, you should try and buy 2 sticks of this at once if at possible

dual channel is only a couple % performance increase at best
