Ive got my cpu, vga cards, and memory ready for a build.
ive yet to decide on what motherboard i should go with.
overclocking, ive got a q6600(266x9 stock), and its a very powerful cpu as it is. im reaching 4700+ cpu marks in 3dmarks. but ofcourse i want to overclock it. im looking for at least a bump to 2.93gz which will get me similar performance to a stock qx6800. but im not looking to break any records.
sli, sli is very important to me since i have these 2 cards already. and from what ive seen in reviews and benchamarks, the jump in 3d performance will be greater by using SLI than by overclocking my cpu and extra 600-800mhz.
the boards im interested in are
Asus Stryker Extreme, because SLI is confirmed to work, good overclocker, but $$$$.
Asus P5K Deluxe, new P35 bearlake chipset, from initial reviews the board automatically bumps your c2d's fsb to 33 without any modification of the bios..kinda like a 'free' overclock. good memory controller, and great quad overclocker according to review..but does it support SLI??? this is still unconfirmed to my knowledge.
please help guys!
