Got a ps3. Any game suggestions?

Only reason I bought it is for 3d blu ray playback on a TV and the final fantasy series. Got it on sale for $259 and 3d blu ray players are only $100 less so I figured I'd go ahead and get the ps3 instead. I love the final fantasy series. Any games I need to check out? I'm a pc gamer first so obviously if it's available on PC I'm going with PC. I do think consoles have ruined gaming as far as not pushing graphics forward and dumbed down gaming in general but having said that I'll try to keep an open mind.

if you are an ff fan why not start with the ff games? i'm not an rpg fan at all but i think i remember hearing people thought the latest ff was not that great a game.

Uncharted 1 and 2 and Killzone 3 would be my first choices. Also, God of War 3 was pretty fun.

I've heard a lot about uncharted so I'll try that. Are there any older mortal kombat's available for ps3? All I can find is a new one for $60 and I'm not interested in paying that much for games.

Another thing, how are the wireless controls for ps3? Should I go with oem (Sony) brand?

These +Ratchet and Clank games. Little Big Planet is rather meh unless you have others to play with. Playing with randoms online isn't great.

Infamous was good, and the 2nd one is due out relatively soon which looks even better. They're also making a new Twisted Metal for the PS3 so keep an eye/ear out for that.

I really did buy a ps3. Like I said I got it on sale. On eBay they had an eBay daily deal thing for a brand new 160gb ps3 from buy.com through eBay for $259 shipped. I bought it and I'm looking for games to possibly play in the future. Of course I'm going to play the final fantasy series first and I just was wondering what else I could possibly get and I'll be searching the bargain bin at gamestop for a few games.
So are you implying there is not going to be a drop off in frames per second and graphics? I'm just wondering how severe the drop off is and if it's so bad it makes the games unplayable. You've got to understand I've been exclusively playing pc games for the last few years with the highest end pc equipment so I've come to expect a certain level of graphics. I know ps3 is not gonna be the same. Just asking legit questions.

I have never played PC games, so I can't tell you about the difference, but with some of the games on the list the graphics change. Uncharted 2 and Killzonse 3 look really good, infamous looks like garbage.

Since you're a die hard mavs fan, I'll cut ya some slack. But your post comes off as slightly condescending in the sense that the tone of your posts are consistently bad mouthing console gaming. Sure you may not be directly saying "Console graphics suck" but all the questions you ask and all the side comments about how you'll just have to deal w/ lower graphics or how pc gaming has dumbed down consoles just makes you come off as trolling.

If you are worried about the games being low graphics and not up to par w/ your elite PC gaming system.....then you should have saved yourself the extra $100 and just bought a stand alone 3D blu ray player.

Heavenly Sword always deserves a lot more support than it gets in these "What should I play on the PS3" threads, although it admittedly still is a poor second cousin to the God of War franchise.

Demon's Souls is a great choice if you like action RPGs which repeatedly kick you in the nads (by which, I mean allow you to kick yourself in the nads -- repeatedly).

The beauty of consoles is everything's playable. That's the point of the console. You buy a game and know ahead of time if it'll work or not. You don't have to scour the net to find reviews and requirements to see if you need a driver update or an upgrade.

Also, everything mentioned here are PS3 exclusives so as far as graphics are concerned you don't have any other version to compare it to.

Thanks for the help guys. Looks like god of war 3, uncharted, and killzone 3 are on the list. Will have my ps3 Monday and looks like amazon is the best place to buy games. Final fantasy 13 is $27 shipped on Amazon and gamestop wants $26 for a used copy.

Half.com is a good place for older used games. And if you're not in a hurry to buy, just watch for limited time blowout sales on specific titles (like Amazon Goldbox, NewEgg 24 hour sales, etc)

Infamous is a must play if you own a PS3. I wouldn't say it looks like garbage, but the aliasing is quite bad.
