well 2 days ago a case fan starting making a lot of noise so i unplugged it and i went to pc club to replace it but i walked out instead with an MSI GF4 TI4200 ( i had a gf2 gts and unreal 0wn3d my box badly)

well i got home i put it in and ran it and i went up from 3 fps to 10 and i was what the hell this sucks!

i thought the drivers were bad so i tried a lot of detonar drivers, well long story short after two days i decided to go get the case fan and voilia that fixed everything. Unreal ran close to 3 times faster my 3dmark score went up to 8k (from 3.5k)

im a happy boy :D

I keep a large supply of case fans handy. Was rather nice to have when one of my drive bay fans started moaning.
Those PC Clubs sound handy to have though. Where I live closest thing is a compussr. :(

Man alive, I'm still running a geforce1 ddr. All the new stuff is gonna own me. I just don't have the $$$ to throw out for a new mobo/cpu/mem/video.

That MSI card is killer. I got the retail package from Newegg a couple weeks ago, I'm very impressed. The dual head support was a very pleasent surprise, I'm thinking about picking up a 15" lcd now for a second monitor.

My GTS positivly chugged in America's Army on the pipeline level if I ventured outdoors. Ut2003 at 1024x768 with details maxed runs like a dream on the MSI card. It's seriously like an entire new pc. And to think I was going to spend about $300 and go to a p4 chip and board ;)

Hehe...I finally sucked it up and replaced my GF2pro with a Ti4600 (also thanks to UT2k3 bitch-slapping the GF2). So nice to be able to crank up all the eye candy on my games.:D

I just made the upgrade from dual 800 / 1GB ram / GeForce 2 GTS

- to -

Intel 2.26GHz @ 3.06 GHz / 512 PC3200 ram / ATI Radeon 9700.

It's fast. :)

My 3dmark score is like 15,000 at 2.5GHz, haven't been able to run at it 3.06 GHz yet.

The card supposedly o/cs very well too.

I got the same card (128MB model), works great. Running it at 300/550 (Ti4400 memory speed)

So 3dmarks freezes up at 3 ghz? What kind of motherboard are you using?

Not exactly. It didn't prime, so I didn't bother to run 3dmark. The highest I've run 3dmark is 2.8GHz, but I didn't get the speed info. I'm using the Asus IT7 with no mods at all.

I managed to POST at 170 with memory 3:4. So I was running DDR 444 or something like that.

This is all on stock cooling, too. :)
