I jsut got myself a $75 video card (Radeon 8500) and ran 3D Mark 2001SE. Got 7566 3D marks. Does that sound about right? Some of those demos are incredible.

Sounds pretty good, depends a lot on the image quality settings on your Radeon. With my 8500 and P4 1.8@2.4, I get 8151 in 3dMark 2001 SE at the settings that I play games at (High quality, but not maxed out). If I set all the options all the way to "Performance", that goes up to 9,397. And if I OC the card, and set my system memory to aggressive timings, I can break 10K - nice number, but, all in all, we would probably get similar frame rates in a real game at 1024x768, or 1280x1024 resolution.
