Initialized with Android 13 but updated itself to Android 14

One of the Home screens (swipe right from main Home screen) is some kind of news mess. All kinds of stories and video junk.

How do I eliminate it?

On Samsung phones it's a long press on any space on a home screen, then settings, then toggle "add media page", probably similar on yours.
I assume retail mode is something left over from the store, like a locked down mode for display models. No idea what swish is!

Or disable the app. No idea what it is called but you can just gown down the list and figure out what is what.

Choose "Home settings"
Then go to "Swipe Access" and choose "Nothing"

Gone.

Is that the 2023 model? I thought 2024 shipped with android 14. You should go through the phone and uninstall/disable all the shitware that comes preinstalled. There's a lot, and some carriers(visible) give you more when you install security patches :^S

Yeah, I killed off the junkware. Bunch of silly games and time wasters made me waste time wasting them.
