I picked one of these puppies up off of ebay for ~$25.
so far, I've discovered that..
folding@home bumps my PC's power consumption by 29W.
a 100 string of Christmas lights takes 46W.
my computer takes 5W when it's turned off
, 103W when on at 0% load.
my 19in CRT takes 4W instandby, 83W surfing AT
cell phone charger (LG VX4400) 2W with no phone, 4W charging a phone
humidifier - 454W
27in Panasonic TV (~4 yrs old) 2W in standby, 65-105W watching TV
Toshiba SD-H400 TiVo - 28W in standby, 29W on
General Instruments Digital Bable box - 18W in standby, 19W on
Samsung 1.1kW Microwave - 4W in standby, ~1200W cooking
2 slice toaster - 850W
Coffee Maker - 900W
100W Incandescent Lamp - 104W
Maytag Washer - ~500W wash cycle, .57power factor
RCA Cable Modem - 8W
