ROFL~!!

no doubt...I guess a newbie could have difficulty applying the front brake though...its the same hand as the throttle hand.

Too bad he didn't crash into the Aztec and destroy it.

Two words, jack ass. First time I rode a motorcycle, my dad talked me through the controls for a minute or two and then I took off. Never found it hard and have never had an incident and hopefully I never do.

ROFL he could have slight pulled to the left and had a safe fall on the grass.

What a dolt.

Actually, he got real lucky. Hard to judge the distance he had to accelerate, but the SV is no slouch. Entirely possible that if he grabbed a handfull of throttle, he might have hit that tree at 30. That would have hurt a lot worse.

Nah, I was pointed perpendicular to a major street with parked cars on both sides of the driveway and cars going both directions on the street. Mind you, I weighed a wopping 135 pounds at that point and was on a Virago 750, which is a pretty big bike, both for a newbie and a small guy like I was.

That guy is not even tall enough to ride it. He can barely touch the ground, and a SV650 if that is what it is, is NOT a starter bike, esp for that short and small of a person.

Yeah these are all great stories. I was 10 and rode a 1200 on a guidewire between two rows of fighters jet......blah blah blah.

The truth is anyone can die on a bike at any given moment no matter the skill level. Most times anyone can make you die if THEY put YOU in the right situation.
There was a rider that ended up dead in a ravine 200 ft down this weekend in the NC mountains and they say he had ridden for years.

I laugh at the dumbasses like everybody else but I never kid myself about having total control of my life cause I don't and neither do the rest of you.

Better learn it. Peace.

Two more words: target fixation - if you look at something thinking "I sure don't want to go there", that's exactly where you're going to go. You only have two eyes. There are an infinite number of places you don't want to be, and a few places where you do want to be. Waaaay easier to think about the few rather than the many.

Man, if I had a dollar for every time I heard some bonehead say "I let my buddy ride it, and he totaled it."

oh my that brings memeories of colin's SV650 .. this bike and colin's bike had yoshimura exhausts.. that's an yosh exhaust note..

and yes that's an SV650.. I do recommend it for new riders but I also caution it saying its a wheelie machine from hell.. glad he didnt wheelie it and hit the tree.

Nevertheless the guy is stupid to try ride an SV650 with NO experience.. and no helmet or jacket or gloves..
