Hey guys. I got a new job and have a new dental plan. How do I find a good one? They have a list on their website but how can I find one that's good? Is there a good review website or something?

If you are in a bigger city - give YELP a try.....

or you could always do the really weird thing and ask a few of your coworkers!

Lisa needs braces!

But seriously, ask friends, family, coworkers who live in the area. Some good things to ask:

- Do they do a good job of explaining what you need and why you need?
- Do they numb you properly for fillings, crowns, etc.?
- Do they not push cosmetic work like whitening unless you ask for it? (Some practices are more like plastic surgeons than doctors.)

ask people at work who they go to. 🙂

Typically that's the best way to do it. They'll know who's good in your area and who accepts your insurance plan.

EDIT: Just read that they just switched up the plans. Maybe ask your coworkers who they like then call the office to see if they accept the new plan?

last time i checked, Angies List didn't have reviews for doctors/dentists... so what i did was get a list of dentists that accept my insurance from the insurance website, then plug their names into Google to see if others have reviewed them. for my current dentist it really worked out well - she's really nice and does a good job. this may be hit or miss though.

Ask friends, family, co-workers for recommendations...then call to see if they're on the plan...or check the plan's website.

Who was your prior dentist? Most dentist take multiple dentist plans. I've never had to switch dentist b/c I changed jobs/dental insurance.

Actually we just switched dental plans for the entire company. So noone knows yet 😱

id assume most of them will take the new insurance provided you are using a big name provider

my plan changed last year. still use the same dentist i have been using since i was like 15
