Got a new (Cheap) Antenna for the TV but it has this type of connection it won't fit. What adapter do I need?

So I bought an antenna from eBay but the connection on the cable won't fit and I am not sure what its called. It looks like this (picture below). Its too thick to fit the coaxial plug on the T.V. What kind of adapter do I need to buy? I know it has to be Female something to male coaxial just don't know what this connection is called. Thanks

Thank you but I don't think that's it. Reason been that I tried inserting the connection from the picture to an RCA plug on the TV and the hole was too big for the connection and it fit very losoely. I am pretty sure this adapter would be the same size hole as an RCA plug on the TV.

I had already looked at one of these on eBay but really not sure what else it might be. Seller issued a refund for the antenna and said I had to buy the adapter separate and told me to keep the Antenna for free, I just need the darn adapter lol.

Thank you though I'll keep looking but honestly I am all out of options at this point.

EDIT: The male end of the adapter is the correct one but not the female end I think the hole would be too big if its just like an RCA plug but it has to be something similar to what you posted.

EDIT #2: Just compared the connection on the antenna to a regular RCA cable from the DVD Player and its definitely not RCA. RCA Is way thicker.

Take a pix of your tv antenna connection, chances are it is coax, then you will need a f type coax converter

That's the thing that is the connection on the antenna! the one from the Picture. I have no clue what adapter it needs. The antenna is made in China and was sold by a Chinese retailer on eBay maybe that has something to do with it. Would love to watch local channels every now and then in my room as I don't have cable in my room lol.

Is that just a type F with no threads? Looks like the old-school push-on connectors they used to use in the 70's/80's. If you see a wire in the middle, try pushing it over the male coax and see if it will line up.

Okay I'll look into it. Thank you for the suggestion

I thought the same thing but no is not regular coaxial pin the pin is thicker on this one it won't even enter the standard coaxial plug on my TV. It won't go in at all. If I put it on it will just fall off. I a bit puzzled honestly.

EDIT: also the pin is not as thick as an RCA plug either, its a bit smaller.

Some people buy fancy antennas and stuff then there's me sticking a piece of wire in the back of the TV. :p No balun and the length is not even frequency tuned. It's a miracle I get anything but it works lol. 2 of the 3 channels are snowy though, so I presume with a better antenna I would maybe pickup the other 2 channels, but even before the switch to digital the other two were hit and miss depending on how you play with the antenna. One channel always had these alien shows and stuff, was fun to watch at camp.

haha nice! I was afraid to stick a paper pin in the coaxial because I was afraid to get shocked by electricity (Still am lol) I know nothing about this kind of stuff.

Err antenna collects signal, low power stuff, the antenna socket does not have power.

I don't watch TV either not even in the kitchen where we have satellite TV but when I am going to bed I like to turn the TV and put local news on but my old antenna broke.

Thank you but since I got the antenna for free and I been trying to get it working for 2 weeks I am just going to give up and buy a cheap different one. But thank you for the suggestion.
Use this to figure out what you need.

RF inputs don't produce any voltage.

RF outputs, such as a transmitter tower or a wave guide, then that is a different story. Don't touch the antenna and don't look inside a wave guide. In the case of AM, don't even touch the tower, it *IS* the antenna.

Whooaa! that's really cool! thanks for sharing. Crazy how he can hear the audio frequency when he touches it with the leaf lol
