Here's what I use:
microfiber chenille mitt
various high-quality microfiber towels
Duragloss CWC
Optimum No-Rinse
Two Grit Guards
Two 5-gallon buckets that allow the GGs to sit on the bottom
Adjustable hose nozzle
Clay
PC 7424XP /w various pads
Duragloss tire dressing
Collinite 845 IW
303 Aerospace Protectant (rubber trim)
Shouldn't be too hard to figure out how I use these. Only thing I would suggest is adding detergent to the rinse bucket so that the wash bucket doesn't get diluted after a while. Alternatively, top up the wash bucket when it feels like the detergent isn't as concentrated. Also, thoroughly clean the wiper blades until all the "black" is gone, and replace the wiper blades twice a year. Otherwise, your windshield will get spidering fairly soon.
this is basicly what you should follow. as far as the clay goes you shouldnt have to clay the whole car everytime you wash but spots like behind the wheels on the lower parts of the doors and front bumper from bugs in the summer the clay makes it very easy clean up. and hand washing is truly best for you car. and keeping a good coat or 2 of wax on your car really helps keep the paint protected and makes removing dirt easier on your next wash. and if you have the means stay out of direct sunlight when washing your car just makes it way easier to do everything. early morning i found is the best time before the suns to high in the sky and baking the wax on or drying the water spots before you get to them.
