Under device manager and displays it says generic pnp monitor. When I open up the catalyst panel (4890) it correctly identifies it as an ASUS VW266H monitor.

How do I get this to change in windows 7? I have looked for drivers or clues to change it, but nothing gives an exact answer for the display I got. I may have overlooked it, but I am looking.

Edit:

I got in touch with someone at ASUS finally and they informed me all their monitors show up as this. If someone actually knows of anything else, I would be all ears.

I have that exact same monitor, and they're right. That's the way it should look.

Odd problem. I've got the same Asus monitor and it shows up as an Asus VW266H under control panel/display and in CCC.

LOLZ Monitor drivers...

Quote the sentence:

"I have looked for drivers or clues to change it, but nothing gives an exact answer for the display I got."

I guess you have never installed a program that has made your monitor show up correctly in windows? It may not be "drivers" exactly, but it would be something along those lines. Then again, drivers allow windows to see what you actually have hooked up to the computer. That was basically what I was asking, at least Zerocool understood what I was saying.

Keep on trolling.

My Asus VW246H is the same, however being its plug and play you really don't need to worry about monitor drivers with Win7,some companies do supply drivers for some models but they are really not needed for plug and play monitors.

Btw if you right click on desktop select "screen resolution" mine says VW246H monitor ,so you really should not worry what it says in device manager.

I guess it would just be part of being a little anal with it not showing up how I would prefer :D

Thanks, it does show it there.
