Got a new 1TB hard drive. Wondering which of my drives to use for OS.

Hi all! Thanks to the "Hot Deals" section of this forum, I bought a WD 1TB Caviar Black for a great price. I have a 74GB and a 150GB WD Raptor. The 74GB has a strange SMART message, so it will not be used for anything important; I might give Linux a try on it - things of that nature.

I plan to use the 150GB Raptor as my OS (Vista x64 Home Premium) drive and then have the 1TB Caviar Black for my programs/games, music, and storage drive. Does that seem like the best configuration to you? What do you think? Thanks!

Yes. That's what I would do.

Sounds good, except I wouldn't install all programs on your second drive, if by that you mean you'd essentially move Program Files over to it. Stuff like Word and everything else, just install it to the default location on C:. Games and stuff, yeah, move them to D:.
