Well, I had a very good experience with craigslist yesterday. I usually hate dealing with people on craigslist, because I have met a lot of jackasses on there.

This time was different.

Someone posted their less than one month old macbook for 900 bucks. Just for fun, I emailed them and told them all i could do was 700 for it, but i would pay them cash today if they wanted to sell it. The girl e-mails me back and says she can do it. I was very excited at this point, and we set up a meeting after work at starbucks.

Well, I get there and the girl i was buying it from was so small. She was maybe 100 lbs, and like 5"3'. She was pretty ballsy to meet someone she didnt know at a starbucks all alone. Especially off of craigslist (I have met a lot of scammers and low lifes on there)

Anyways, transaction went fine and I love the macbook!

Its got a warranty until July 17th, 2007. Her cut off day for a return was August 2nd, so she just barely missed it.

So now I have a basically brand new macbook with a full warranty for almost 400 off retail! YES, i rock!

Now that i am done gloating, what are some good mac programs?

I wanna install windows XP on it, but I dont know if i should partition a majority to windows xp, or do half and half? The hard drive is only 60 gigs, and I have 30 gigs of music, so i might be crunched for space.

Also, whats a good newsgroup and torrent program for a mac?

Oh, and one more question....

With a program like boot camp and multiple partitions, will I be able to access universal data from the mac partition from my windows XP partition (I.E. music and movies and such?)

5' 3"? 100lbs? She is the notorious mac book cat burglar. Not only that, but she probably distracted you with her feminine wiles and gave you a P-P-P-PowerBook. You should give it to me asap.

Unison is the BEST Newsgroups program, Mac or Windows. That, and Adium, really makes me want to switch back to Mac, but cost constraints prevent me :(. For torrents, Azerus (SP?) is fine, though it's Java, so it may run a little slow. I've never used a Intel Mac, though, so I can't tell you for sure. I personally use Tomato Torrent.

Like Secretahcnhitman said, MacDrive will let you use your Mac Partition in Windows, though it's kind of a PITA, plus you have to pay. If you use NTFS for Windows, you can read the files on OS X, but not write. FAT32 lets you write.

wow.. nice deal. considering he said $400 off retail... that'd be the white one.

only question left is was she hot? heh. and if you met at a fairly busy time, starbucks is generally public enough.

or.. she is now stalking you and is a serial killer that uses cheap macbooks as bait.

She wanted a macbook pro. I think she was a little spoiled. 18 year old girl with a brand new mitsu eclipse.

It didnt fall off the back of the truck either. She gave me the serial # and the original receipt from when she purchased it at the chandler fashion square mall (At the apple store)

Thats how i know she bought it on July 17th.

I bet they were nekkid pics. I know a lot of girls like to take pictures of them naked and upload it to their computer.

I just found a Macbook selling in my area for $950. I should lowball the seller just like the OP. :D

If you're going to buy used, make sure it's a later build - the ones built prior to July tend to have a lot more problems (overheating, noisy, palmrest discolors). Mine was built on Jul 10 and works very well.

I also run XP via Parallels and it's excellent.
