Got a little problem with My Computer

I keep getting that whenever I restart my computer. Also, accessing 'My Computer' takes an obscenely long amount of time. Loading photoshop is also slow.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this? Whatever the generic host process is (excuse my ignorance), it seems to be fairly important.
