By giving the address, OP was trying to scare the caller with the location of his neighborhood. How bad is the area you live in?:awe:

You should call back and complain about the call you got from their number.

Seriously though: He was trying to intimidate him with how willing he was to fight. "Obviously must be a tuff mutha fookah if he ain't skeer't and invited me to make good on my threat so that he can retaliate." It's the same thing implied when someone says "DO IT THEN!" to someone's threats of physical violence.

Hey shit for brains, escalating a situation into a shooting isn't going to be the great legal defense you think it will...

Don't be surprised when you get brought up on manslaughter...

A bit of advise for the OP

Get out of the murder business while you're ahead. By all indications, you won't be any good at it and you will end up in jail or death row.

Good luck.

On a more serious note, this EXACT thing happened to my neighbor also (though her reaction was obviously much different).

Somebody called her a couple of times and threatened her because they were getting calls from her number with vulgar content. She's ~75 years old, obviously not the culprit.

I wonder if there's a new trend in pranking where people spoof the caller ID and make obscene calls? She called the phone company and police department but no one was able to help her.

This is actually what I was thinking, too. Variation of this? (audio NSFW)

My guess is the OP was raging and came here to vent. Let's be honest, it would be tough to keep your adrenaline in check when some coward with a restricted number calls you up, gives you a truckload of shit, and then threatens your life. The OP didn't lose me until he gave this anonymous twat his address. That's was just fucking stupid. Good chance this was a prank IMO, but if it wasn't... what a dipshit move.

Jesus... am I talking into the WIND? The person the OP talked to WAS the prank caller! There was an epic troll performed EXACTLY like that and posted on YouTube with the threats going back and forth exactly as the OP describes. I'm damn sure that I was linked to it here in these very forums. How can you all possibly jump to the "CID spoof" explanation before the "troll using irony" explanation? OCCAM'S RAZOR!

I think you're a liar too. I also think you made those calls.

Are you going to give me your phone number and address too? Go ahead and post it here, I'm sure others think you're lying as well.

Isn't this a parody of a thread we had a few months back? Same background about guy waiting around with his gun at the parents' house or something like that?

People are never creative when it comes to this. Give them the address of your annoying neighbor or the police department.
