And my information, as well as those of several thousand others, has been lost on an unencrypted hard drive.
Of course, this was against their policy, and while they don't think the information was the target, they are very sorry.
Oh, and they're sporting for a year's worth of credit protection with Equifax.
That is all.

We got 3 years free Equifax credit protection when that happened to us.

Can someone explain to me why do company store dentities on a LAPTOP?!?!!??!?!? shouldn't that be at a computer/server @ corporate?

If ANY of it was regarding medical coverage or insurance or anything like that, the HIPAA act could do them a proper reaming. Maybe then they'd use more common sense about making such information so portable.
