Got a job today!

I left the Air Force in January, and have been looking for a job for the last coupla months in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. I finally got an interview at a really interesting small law firm, and really liked the personalities and job responsibilities. Today they e-mailed an offer letter. It will actually be my first experience in private practice, and I'm looking forward to it.

Yay for civilian employment!

What kinda law does this firm practice?

We do a lot of work for local government, and for the local metropolitan council. A lot of it involves water and agrarian rights, although I won't be working on that stuff much. I'll largely be doing personal-injury and employment law defense for the local transit authority, but also a mix of other types of litigation.

I like it in that I will still be serving the public much of the time.

PM me if you or your Minnesota business need legal support! 😉

in other news I got turned down for a job that was going to be a 50% pay increase
too many senior unemployeed people around still 🙁

Awesome... congrats. I hear private practice is the way to go in law. Just don't sell out like Johnny Cochran.. Btw, you doing corporate, civil or criminal law?
