Hey everyone, I got a PNY nVidia 9600GT for pretty cheap today from a friend. He never used it, but I'm aware it's outdated. Looking at benchmarks and things, it seems to perform pretty decent for what it is, but what I'm wondering is about that whole G92/G94 "GPU issue" that was going on about a year or two ago.
Was it ever proved/proven false that the G92/G94 cores were effected just like the G8X cores? Also, is it different between desktop/laptop GPUs? And finally, is there any driver fixes available for stuff like this? Thanks for any info guys...I've searched on google a lot but it all points back to the same typical stuff (Inquirer article, etc.)
EDIT: Another question for anyone who might be looking, what's the whole "black screen of death" thing that is going around about the 9600GT? Is that related to the "supposed defect" or is that something completely different, such as a driver issue, etc?
