Got a gift from my job for xmas.....

I got a 5 piece Zenith home theater system from my job for xmas this year and I already have a Sony home theater system. The box had stickers from circuit city on it so I went to the store to exchange it for something else and the guy said I needed the receipt. I feel funny asking my boss for the receipt being that it was a gift. Its only worth $140 and its not really that great of a home theater. What should I do? Is there any other way I can exchange it....and I dont want to sell it on ebay cause its heavy and I dont feel like shipping it.

Give it to me

I dont want to keep it....I have no use for it. I dont want to just give it away because there are some things I could really use. A new HDD being one of those things.

Just tell them it was a gift. That's a horrible company policy if they won't take back Christmas presents without a receipt.

I did tell the CSR it was a gift and that I felt funny asking my boss for the receipt. He told me to lie to him and say that I needed the receipt to get the extended warranty.

That sucks....its not like I want cash back. I just want to exchange it for something I need and can use.

Sell it though the local paper?

Craigslist?

(Local audience = no shipping 🙂)

Edit:

LOL..Beaten to it... that's what I get for answering the phone while typing my response.
