Well, duh... You hook it up and play some really obnoxious hip hop tracks on it at top volume outside of a retirement home 🙂
 
A quick test to see if it works is to grab any battery, (9V would be best, but a AA would be alright) and just run power to the + and - terminals on the woofer. If the woofer is ok, you should hear a small crackling sound, or with a 9V you'll actually see it move a bit.

I used to test speakers with little batteries all the time.
