never allow anybody to use your pen except you. The nib breaks-in to the particular angle you write with, so anybody else using it even once will mess up the nib.

My "at-the-desk" pen is the Pilot Precise V5 RT; the pen I carry is a Cross with fine felt tip. I gave up on fountain because I couldn't be bothered with cleaning it out / maintaining it because I wouldn't use it enough to keep the ink flowing correctly...

... This is my philosophy for every kind of pen. I just use whatever happens to be on my desk (which I at some point fished out of a drawer somewhere). The thought of going out and buying a specific model is mind blowing to me.

I really like that pen. It was my go-to pen before I bought this. I don't think I've ever used a felt tip pen before. I'll have to check that out.

The guy for whom I was best man got me a Mont Blanc.

I love mine. I only carry it when I know I'll be signing documents. I want a fountain version.

I've started carrying around a Sheaffer Prelude recently. I was always needing a pen when I didn't have one but carrying around a disposable ball point isn't exactly a classy look.

If the Lamy's as smooth as my Sheaffer, you'll have no trouble using it daily.

I have the same pen as you except with an extra fine tip. The pen was amazing for really small labeling on lab papers and notes in Anatomy and Physiology.

The extra fine started off kinda scratchy but ended up much smoother then when i first got it. I heard the Fine tip has even less of an issue.

OP, did yours come with the piston ink converter? Cheap little thing that you can fill with ink from a bottle which is MUCH MUCH cheaper then the little refills.

There is a fountain pen forum where they test all the inks to show you its characteristics. Some people get pretty serious about that stuff.

Yup. Bought the converter too. Haven't used it yet. I'll report back on how it goes
