Lamy Safari Fountain Pen - Charcoal - Fine

I really like it. I'm considering taking notes during meetings / class with it.

Anyone else with one?

Classy, people are gonna freak the fuck out and ask how it works though. They'll probably think its an iPad stylus.

Classy would be a Mont Blanc. Not a $25 fountain pen.

When I graduated high school my uncle gave me a Mont Blanc ballpoint. Pretty cool but it rearly leaves my apartment. I would probably forget it somewhere :'(

I'd imagine that a fountain pen would be terrible for note taking. Taking quality notes requires speed, not penmanship. Aren't fountain pens are more for letters and long form writing where you can take your time?

I mean that the concept is classy, I've seen $1400 fountain pens before.

I wouldn't say it would slow me Down. It's much easier to write fast when compared to a 10¢ bic.

Picked myself up a $2.99 one I found on I think ebay or something, a no name fountain pen, works better then disposables I have found though. Might spend more on a 25-45 range one for my birthday though.

Fountain pens are cool. I have some cheapies, but I never use them since I seldom handwrite. Try calligraphy pens also. They're less practical than regular fountain pens, but are fun to use. You don't have to do "official" calligraphy either. Use it for nicer notes to people, and stuff like greeting cards.

my Mother and her Father did that. They would be hired every now and then to make signs, write up stuff.

She has such beautiful writing and the pens and such they had were neat.

Be sure to carry blotting paper. Fountain pens will leak at some point in their lifetime--either from being dropped, knocked, or sometimes for no good reason.
