this is the store's fault, its only the 2nd day! keep harassing them, don't let up! Tell them u'll take it up with your credit card if they dont give u back the money.

I'll *never* buy anything from that company if that's how they treat folks. Their guarantee appears to be complete garbage, too.

I'd also link them to this thread so they can be aware of how their actions have lost business from other forum members.

You can do a chargeback for defective and "not as described" merchandise, contrary to what a previous poster said.

And if you are charged a restocking fee, you can chargeback that as well.

I've done both, btw.

Google "defective product chargeback".

@OP: it's now been 9 days since your original post. Any progress? Did gear XS make it right for you, did AMD, etc etc?

Alright so I went to my bank (PNC) to file a dispute, and they actually credited my account the difference no questions asked which was cool. The manager of the bank filed the claim and are in the process of contacting Gearxs.

Ironically just an hour before I went to the bank, Gearxs sent me an email confirming the RMA for me to send back the card. I read the email after I filed the dispute, so hopefully I can just send back the card and that is that.

Don't waste your time with this company, and I'm gonna use the $150 to get a 6870 from Newegg. Something I should of done to begin with. :oops:

With that said, which is the best of the cheap 6870's?

How did going cheap work for you the first time?

Isn't "cheap" and "best" and oxymoron?
"cheap" and "best" are relative terms and I was just asking for opinionated responses for good 6870's that are around $160 price point. Since I am getting a new retail card from a more reputable site, I think it is a valid question.

@OP: Got your pm, thanks.

It sounds like gearxs finally did the right thing for you. I definitely don't think that this would cause anybody to recommend them, but i also don't think that your situation would prevent me from using them in the future (though I never have and I'm also a big newegg fan). If you'd bought from newegg the rma process would have been easier, but it could also have been easier if you'd bought a "name" brand card like sapphire, xfx, asus, gigabyte, or msi.

I've personally used HIS for 6870s and they're all humming along in client builds just beautifully.
