Got a dent in my car

Kind of annoying, I don't have a particularly nice car, it's a corolla. But it is a 2000 so this is the first semi major body damage it's gotten.

It's a gash/dent that's about 3 inches long. The paint has been cut through. How much would it cost to fix this?

Well, I can't guarantee quality of the job though. Probably not very good..

Hahaha, I don't mind spending 100 if it removes the damage completely, but what's the point if it's not a good job?

sometimes you just don't care if it's restored back to perfect or not, you just want it to not be noticeable.
luvya, where's your friend? i need some work done myself! :)

heh, if you're going to do that, I might as well tear out the trunk interior, tap it out and use the chip repair kit I have. :p

I was telling NB last night that I should find a magnet big enough to suck out the dent.

What body panel is it in? it's going to cost a lot more to replace the roof than a bumper.

Without any more info, your question is like "I got a 3 inch cut, do you think I'll bleed to death?"

If the cut's on your knee, no. If it's on your wrist, maybe.

I still like the magnet idea, if it'll work:p

It's worse than it looks in the pic. It's hard to take pictures of 3D dents and accurately show it in a 2D pic.

hahaha, it's a fun idea but any magnet powerful enough to take out that dent would also probably rip out stuff behind the dent too. :Q

Is this a parking lot ding, or did you do it yourself? Looks like something fell against it, rather than getting slammed by a car door.

If you can match the color with off the shelf, touch up paint, you could probably handle it yourself with "Bondo" or maybe even Spot Putty. The paint code should be on your driver's door.

thx, good advice is hard to come by on the forums these days. :(

I just noticed the gash last night, so it wasn't me. Now that you mention it tho, might be my dad or my bro, they were doing yardwork yesterday and I park on the drive way.
