So, I got my first non-expected BSOD (tried undervolting once. :p) but it disappeared before I could read it. I was wondering if you guys could help me find out what happened.

The windows error thingy.
Code:
Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name:	BlueScreen
  OS Version:	6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
  Locale ID:	1033

Additional information about the problem:
  BCCode:	116
  BCP1:	FFFFFA800C3EE4E0
  BCP2:	FFFFF88004968E6C
  BCP3:	0000000000000000
  BCP4:	0000000000000002
  OS Version:	6_1_7601
  Service Pack:	1_0
  Product:	768_1

I am scanning for viruses, but that takes near 2 hours on my system. :I It is also an older HDD (Near 4 years now.) so it might be failing. (Crap. :|) *sigh*

I was playing NFS:MW when it crashed if that helps. I can give you more information but I don't know what you need.

Thanks!

Glad it worked for you
Right after I replied to you it crashed and recovered 4 times in a row, then BSOD'ed due to "driver timeout." I said screw it and went to lunch. Looks like warranty time now. :/

Guys, update. Exact same situation, 4 crashes, timeout, BSOD. But it's random, it was running fine for the 3 months since last post. *sigh Any ideas? I've hear HIS has below average warranty service, and that's kinda a last resort. I would try to return for money so I could get a 280x or 270x, but even a new one of these would be ok.

Nope, I think it's the card. Had the issue with everything from something like 13.8 to latest 13beta.

Have you looked at temps?

Is this BSOD with the card under load or idle?

Under 65c. It seems like it BSOD's under load, and it will black screen sometimes on idle, come back to an artifacted screen, then recover.

Sorry it's so huge, but I can't make it smaller. While I was typing this the first time something started grinding in my PC then it BSOD'ed again. Help, I am so out of my element. I've only known about PC's for a year!

I've read several accounts where the HD 7770 is just prone to BSOD with certain setups. Sounds like this is what you are experiencing. I'd use your onboard video (if you have that option) until you are able to upgrade.

My son had an ATI card that did the same thing, regardless of what I did. Replaced the card and not a problem since. :) Good luck to you!
