Just wondering, but why did you assume it would be safe to make the left turn just b/c a big SUV could make it?

Now I know you didn't hit anyone and technically you didn't even cross onto oncoming traffic. And that's good...fortunately you did not hit anyone or else this whole thing would be much worse.

But again, I would like to know the answer to the above Q. The SUV has no fault here, so trying to use that as an excuse is not valid.
