I don't think he would get any post beeps at all if his CPU was not seated correctly or fried.
At least that is what I have found in the past. You get absolutely nothing. No beeps, no BIOS.

Because I believe your quest to make your system faster has prompted you to try anything you can possibly think of, including BIOS settings, try this:
Shut down your PC. remove power cord. Locate the "Clear CMOS" jumper on your motherboard and use it. If you have no such jumper, locate your CMOS battery and remove it for 30 seconds. Reinstall the CMOS battery.
This will reset your factory defaults. Sometimes folks try too many things at one time and it is difficult backtrack and know what you have to undo.
The single post beep means there is hope.
