Sounds good.
Pretty cool we both sold are cards (3) under 24hrs from listing and you know what that means we probably could have sold them for more, but hey lets not get greedy. :)

Exactly, there were plenty of buy it nows for $500 that had been sitting there so 425-450 appeared to be the sweet spot, at least for 7970s

I've actually been looking and I think I'd be fine with a R9 280x. It's equivalent to what I had (maybe slightly better), which I was happy with. I'm not going to game higher than 1080p.

If I can get one when they start to come back in stock, I can come out ahead...

-$220 AR for my 7970
+$425 sold on eBay
-$300 for 280x whne they are back in stock

Just throwing this out there for you fwiw on a 280x vs 290 decision while I researching the 290 non x BM's for myself and though about you. It's kind of hard to find good 1080 BM's but below is one from Techspot that shows 1200 BM's (rough ideal) and from AT that shows 1080 BM's to give you a ideal on a 280x vs. 290 non x performance. So check out the performance differences for a 280x vs. a 290 non x for games you play. Hopefully the prices will be back down to normal (pre mining :)) by then on reference and AIB's by the time the 290 non x's are ready and both 280x/290's are in good stock. Also keep in mind we a should see performance increase on the 290 non x with AIB coolers/models with lower temps imo. If you play BF4 remember Mantle is coming for a possible boost in performance when looking at those 290/280x charts. Not trying to talk into anything just something for you to reference to help with your decision to make sure. Also keep in mind these are stock reference clocks for both cards.

Good information. I'll keep it in mind b/c it is a decent jump from 280x to 290.

Got to get a good night of BF4 in. I didn't get the card out today b/c buyer was late with the payment last night. One more good night and I'll get it packed up and ready for in the morning :D

Wow just when my 7970 needs an RMA. I can sell it but I'm not into screwing people over sigh. Had set up on RMA but due to the steam sale and whatnot I decided to keep it and play a few games.

What issue are you having?

I dunno but its a display issue, it happens so randomly and far in between that I cant make out what it is, like a millisecond screen distortion. Happens to fast. Only seen on the desktop because I can play games hour on end and not see the issue. I have to pay to ship it to sapphire, which is dumb since it still under warranty but whatever. And the boost bios 2 on it seems to be giving it to much voltage at 1.2 so it artifacts. But if i keep bios 1 and up the clocks a bit with a slight voltage increase its fine.

Go 290 :)

After researching, looking at BM's, card/prices and thinking this out today I am just going to run a 290 AIB and I am done for next 12 months upgrading the VC. Just have to wait for AIB's and prices to come back to around $410-$450 which they should imo.

Since you play BF4 then AMD/Mantle could equal a nice plus. :)
