Got a 6 week internship, need to learn PERL now

I got an internship offer and basically I would be using PERL. I am being given a project and I would have to complete it by the end of the 6 weeks. I have a pretty good knowledge of Java so I'm not completely foreign to programming. I'm a pretty fast learner and would have any problem teaching myself.

Anyone recommend any books or websites that I should visit so I can start to learn PERL?

"Learning Perl" is the book I used. And it's a great language.

look online for tutorials. thats what i did.... perl is an extremely powerful language

perl is pretty easy, didnt know it at all 3 weeks ago, now I am in a similar situation to yours but am doing fairly well. What kind of project is it?

I would be working for R2 Technologies basically creating an algorithm for detecting cancer.

They said they dont care about efficiency, as long as the program works (no bugs, crashes, etc) its fine. They'll optimize after the 6 weeks.
