Is the 8800 much better than the 9600GT?

Yes the 8800GT is better than the 9600GT by 10%-20%, the 8800GT you linked to looks like it has the old reference cooler, be fine if you can live with the noise.

Otherwise get this one,

=] i wouldn't like COH anyway. Ill just get whatever 8800 GT they have in stock. But whats the next best card on that site? Whats above t he 8800GT in performance?

my computer specs are:
4000+ x2 amd overclocked
2gb ddr 800 overclocked
biostar motherboard im getting rid of since i cant change the vcore


the 300 watt runs my system fine to my surpise. You think this video card will strain my current compusa psu to hell?

The 8800 gt is outside of my budget already, but im going to get it. The 8800 GTS is really outside of my budget so im going to stick with the 8800

I know im going to need a new psu so i might have to charge the psu because the card is going to break me =[ (till tomarrow that is, but still its going to break me)

i love newegg but tigerdirect store is about 20 minutes away. I was looking for something on tigerdirect.com that i can pick up today. Today being thursday and me being in chicago the power supply would be here next wedenday or thursday. Crap, the tigerdirect store by me doesnt have the stuff i need. So, i have to travel to the main store(warehouse) which is 1 hour away. i called the warehouse and they have both. Oh well guess ill start the car up for a journey!
