Got 2 Tbreds. How do you read the dates on these? Numbers in body.

How would you read these to know any significant differences for overclocking?

The most siginificant thing someone will look for is the stepping and the date. :) Other than that, I won't be lookingfor more than that but looks like both the CPus are "downgraded" from Xp2800. :D

WAnna sell either one to me? :)

How can you tell they've been downgraded from 2800's? BTW, got both from Newegg as 2100+ Tbred 'B' for $78. :cool:

So what's the steppings and the dates? Bacon, bacon, bacon, I can't READ!
And what's that all mean?

looks like both the CPus are "downgraded" from Xp2800.
Why were they downgraded? Did they fail some test :(, or were they just short of the cheaper stuff, hehe.:D

They are many reasons and 'myths' on why they were downgraded but many believe that they were downgraded due to the fact that they cannot run at the specific speeds that they were intended to. The second reason was because it was to fill the demand.

The Steppings?? Both are AIUHB which is what I'm having and a damn good CPU. One is a week 6 2003 while the other is a week 7 2003. :)

19-103-370 / 156564
19-103-370 / 149964

Both these are part numbers in Newegg if I'm not wrong. ahah.

Did you get my PM?? Wanna sell me either CPU? :)

the 4 #'s following stepping (AIUHB in this case) represetnt week then year

date = XXYY
XX= week number (01=1st week, 10=10th week, etc)
YY= year (02=2002, 03=2003, etc)

IMO, the main reason why it was downgraded from 2800+ is because the sales of the 2100+ far outstrip the sales of the 2100+

The % of successful overclocks should indicate whether they were flawed or overstock.
I would think if all are able to run at 2800+ that they were simply moved down the product chain as you suggest.
Well, I'll find out what I have when my new mobo gets here.

Thanks for the boost. :)

Edit:Hmm... I'm just wondering if there would be any similarity between the labeling of these 2100+s and the 2800+s place and product.
If these are 2800+s just how far have these 2800+s been know to overclock?

I do not believe the whole downgraded thing. My 1700 JIUHB 0308 shows it was downgraded from a 2500. They don't even make a 2500 tbredb. And this thing is sitting at 12 x 200. I think those two digits represent something else besides "downgraded from".
